Clarivein – mechanochemical ablation of varicose veins

The Clarivein method was developed in the USA in 2010 for the minimally invasive treatment of the veins of the lower limbs – the great and small saphenous veins, but also the venous connectors – perforators and other affected veins. It uses a combination of mechanical disruption of the inner lining of the vessel wall with sclerosing foam.Under ultrasound control, a catheter is inserted into the treated vein, where its tip rotates at a speed of 3500 revolutions/min.

Clarivein - mechanochemical ablation rotating loop

Contact of the vein wall with the rotating conductor causes disruption of the inner lining. Its destruction is completed chemically with the simultaneous application of a sclerosing substance near the rotating catheter. After the procedure, the limb is bandaged with elastic bandages or tightened with an elastic stocking. The treated vein collapses, the walls stick together, and after a few weeks it turns into a fibrous band. The risk of damage to accompanying nerves of veins, skin, subcutaneous tissue and the occurrence of pain due to heat is completely excluded. The procedure is fast, elegant and safe.
