Contraception: what it means
Using contraception enables you to enjoy sex. You do not need to worry about unplanned pregnancy.
Types of contraception
- Hormonal contraception: pills, patches, I ejection, rings
- Intrauterine devices with progestin release, or without it
- Barrier methods: condoms, diaphragms
- Surgical procedures: tubal litigation for female sterilization, vasectomy for male sterilizations
- Postcoital contraception (also known as the morning after pill) is an emergency contraception method. It is not a very reliable method and should be a primary method of your birth control. 41% of all pregnancies are unplanned. Almost a half of them leads to termination (abortion)
Data collected in Czech Republic suggest that abortion rate fell by 75% between 1990-2010. The decrease was only due to contraception as no other method has been as effective.
