Mammaplasty: breast lift
Breast lift is a procedure in which the surgeon adjusts the size and shape of the breasts and, if necessary, the size of the areolae, which are made smaller. Sagging breasts are raised. The procedure results in restored firmness and shape of the breasts, which look appealing.
Plastic surgeon will talk to each client face to face and discuss the procedure in detail. The surgeon will examine and evaluate your breasts and will explain where incisions for the surgery will be made.
What does breast lift help with?
- asymmetry
- sagging breasts
- loss of firmness

What happens during the procedure?
Breast lift is performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 2 hours. PECS I and PECS II ultrasound guided analgesia can be added to minimize postoperative pain. The surgeon removes excess skin, and they shift the areolae to a higher position. The incisions are closed with stitches that dissolve on their own eventually. Then, you will be taken to recovery room to wake up and to be taken care of.
How long does the recovery period last?
You will need to take a rest for 2 weeks. You will have to have regular follow-up appointments. It is essential to wear an expandable sports bra for 2 months. You are OK to do sports and go back to your normal activities 6 weeks following the procedure. An important part of your recovery is taking care of your scars. You might use silicone tape on them, or you may have them massaged.
