What happens at an arthroscopic surgery?
This surgery requires general anaesthesia, and our anaesthesiologist will look after it. The surgeon will insert a thin tube with a light and a camera to inspect the inside of the joint. Using other specially designed tools, the surgeon performs necessary procedures to treat your joint. The surgical team watches a monitor with images from the camera as it performs the surgery.
What happens after an arthroscopy?
After the surgery, the patients wake up and are taken to the recovery room where they spend around two hours. The patients should arrange for someone to drive them home. During the recovery period, you will have to use forearm crutches for 7 to 14 days. Sometimes, a brace is necessary to stabilize the joint. The surgeon and your doctor will oversee your post-operative regimen and follow up checks.
